Fulbright scholar and Drake University student Ezmaray Mohtasebzada hails from Herat, Afghanistan. Though five bomb attacks have struck Herat this year, and blackmail and kidnapping are rampant — his uncle just paid $200,000 ransom for the safe return of his cousin — Ezmaray is excited to return home.

I would never use it regularly. It increases your heart rate, and you just don’t feel like yourself. It’s strange. You’re, like, locked in and focused. All you really want to do is work.

Holiday shopping just got more more difficult for Iowa college students this year. Thanks to state funding cutbacks, many students will be spending a little less on gifts and a little more on tuition.
